I adore seeing views from up high over blue blue water! Franklin Riley Park offers this, with eucalyptus trees towering over you and yellow flowers dancing in the wind (in spring). You can watch the little sailboats bobbing in the estuary, and hear children yelling in delight at the Tidelands Playground below. Birds sing in the trees, and you can hear the surf crashing far across behind the estuary and dunes. There are wooden stairs that lead down to Tidelands Park, with amazing views of Morro Rock. This area has beautiful cypress trees. Walk Morro Ave and Main Street, to enjoy more peeks of the blue blue estuary from between the houses. Looking down Olive Street at the white dunes and blue water is lovely. In the afternoon, the water sparkles like crazy and it is wonderful to sit on a bench in the park and watch the little sailboats glide by.
There are two interesting information signs: one about Franklin Riley, who settled Morro Bay, and one about the nine sisters or volcanic mountains, one of which is Morro Rock.
