Heilmann Park and splash pad, Atascadero

Amid dry vegetation and gnarled trees is Heilmann Park in Atascadero. It's a good place to escape the heat on summer days because it has a small splash pad. The playground has tunnels suspended up high, stepping stones, and climbeys. It's hard to find so see the directions below. On the morning we came it was completely deserted and didn't feel safe so we left. If you come, maybe afternoons are better.

After, drive into the main part of town for something to eat.
For a more exciting town, explore nearby Paso Robles and its historical buildings, colorful candy shop, and cute cafes. It has an amazing playground called Downtown City Park playground, right in the center of town. The Paso Robles Children's Museum is also a ton of fun for kids, both little and big. They love it with its pizza kitchen, Newton's playhouse where they can shoot balls, market with carts and more!

Directions

Heilmann Park is located at 9498 El Bordo Ave, Atascadero CA 93422. Don't turn in when you see the first sign for the park on El Bordo Ave. This driveway takes you to a parking lot where suspicious-looking people just hang out. Instead, continue on, and you will see the playground on your right. The driveway for the playground is just before La Quinta Road meets El Bordo Ave.
