Los Osos Community Park playground and skate park
Los Osos Community Park has a huge skate park that is a blast for kids. Younger kids can stand above the skate park and watch the action through a fence, which is a lot of fun for them. There is a fun space-age playground with plenty of opportunities for interesting climbing, plus a tire swing and baby swings. Kids can spend a long time without getting bored at this playground. Unfortunately, the tire bits that make up the floor of the playground smell toxic.
On the grassy slope above the skate park there's also a cute historic one-room schoolhouse, which dates back to 1872. When it was moved from its former location, love notes and pages from school readers were found hidden in its walls! When we were there, a group of people were setting up for a baby shower to be held in the schoolhouse- that must have been an adorable party. It's pretty to walk around this park and enjoy the views of trees in the distance.
A pleasant walk in Los Osos with views of Morro Rock is the Elfin Forest boardwalk. For a coffee or a sandwich in a serene setting, head over to 2nd Street and Baywood Park Pier. For a fantastic experience in nature, gather rocks, sea glass, and abalone shells at Spooner's Cove in Montana de Oro State Park. Don't miss a stroll past a natural spring, salt marsh, eucalyptus forest, and birding overlook at the estuary, at Sweet Springs Nature Preserve. There are many other things to explore in Los Osos town.
For a fun place to eat dinner and hang out at a bookstore, head over to the Downtown Center in San Luis Obispo. Or enjoy a restaurant and a walk past seals in Morro Bay town.

Los Osos Community Park is located at 2089 Palisades Ave, Los Osos.
From Highway 101, exit at Los Osos Valley Rd and head west for 9 miles. After you cross the intersection for S. Bay Blvd, pass 5 roads on the right and then turn right on Palisades Ave. You will see the parking lot for Los Osos Community Park immediately on the right.
