Margo Dodd Park is an absolutely gorgeous spot! Wow! It is situated on a small piece of land that points out toward the ocean so that you have views on both sides. What a nice spot for a wedding! You are surrounded by jutting sea rocks that form a delightful seascape! There is a well-kept gazebo and plenty of wooden benches facing the water. Watch a sunset here. There are birds galore on the sea stacks so it can be a bit smelly.

Walk south along the cliffs to Dinosaur Caves Park where your kids can have a wonderful time on the huge, imaginative playground. There are always a lot of kids here. You can continue on the path to Shell Beach Panoramic Walk
Or you can walk north and then up Windward Ave, past the original Bellevue Schoolhouse. The schoolhouse was on a picturesque knoll on Johnson Ranch in 1897 and served 25 students. It was moved to 217 Windward Ave. Walk the main road for a second and then take Boeker Ave back down to the cliffs. Here you can check out the romantic lookout at Placentia Avenue. And then walk Ocean Blvd past Chapman Estate to Eldwayen Ocean Park where there are two staircases that lead down to coves and tidepools.
There is a Qi Gong (similar to Tai Chi) class held at Margo Dodd Park, Wednesdays 4pm, for $14 drop-in fee.

San Luis Obispo has some beautiful beaches and parks, and they are not overcrowded by development or excessive tourism like other Southern California destinations.

The pictures do not do this area justice. My husband and I got married out here and it is gorgeous! Would recommend it to anyone. The weather in San Luis Obispo cannot be matched anywhere else. it is just right during the day and cools down just enough at night. We stayed at The Cliffs and had the same view from our room as we did when we got married. What a serene place.
