Note: The City has abandoned this park in recent years and it has a terrible drug problem. One mom found a two liter bottle of urine at the bottom of the slide one day and human feces on the play structure another time. Update 2024: Now that the Boise law has been overturned, people are being arrested finally.

Mitchell Park used to be a lovely park in downtown San Luis Obispo with a fun playground for kids. Kids could ride their tricycles in glee on the path that circles the playground, and enjoy the colorful hopscotch station.
The park has a tall, whimsical sculpture of children playing, as well as a large lawn, gazebo, and redwood trees.
In autumn when the deciduous trees change to orange and red, Mitchell Park is particularly pretty. You can see Cerro San Luis, or M mountain, from Mitchell Park!
Walk just three blocks to Higuera Street for a treat after your kids are done playing!
While in SLO, don't miss out on the most amazing playground of all at Sinsheimer Park.
