SLO Public Market is an attractive public market with many food options. Upstairs, there is a spacious seating area with big windows, where you can eat your food. This is a pleasant space for groups to gather.

The market has a modern, cool design. There is a SLO mural in the main area downstairs. You can choose from many small eateries offering boba tea, spirits/cocktails, ice cream, tacos (upstairs and to the left), Thai food, Italian food and pizza, sandwiches, bao buns, fried chicken, and hamburgers. Across the plaza there are some other choices: tacos, burgers, and juices and acai bowls. A boulangerie is coming soon. The acai bowl place is very cute and the food is good. The boba tea place has very good jasmine tea with strawberry puree and boba. The fried chicken is popular, and very fresh.
In the outdoor plaza, there are picnic tables, and tables and chairs, with sun umbrellas.
Upstairs there is a small area with toys, where kids can play. The lights up there are automatic, so if it seems very dark, just walk around and they will turn on.
It's cold in the public market because they leave the doors open and it's not heated. Bring a jacket. Also, the seats are metal and cold.
There is an adorable gift shop in the public market, with SLO-themed items as well as a selfie spot with a wooden swing.
A tire swing and a tunnel of huge tires, next to Kitchen and Vine, is a fun place for kids to play.
Sometimes there are special events in the plaza, such as Snowglobe Making Workshop, coming on Dec 4, 2024, held from 5-6pm.
In August and September there is live music, sometimes by Cal Poly Jazz, at the SLO Public Market courtyard on Saturdays 6-9pm.
Brooks Burgers sometimes has live music on their back patio. Check their website- you must click "calendar"  on the right, after you get to this page: events calendar. They have a blues master jam every other Wednesday at 6pm, and a band usually plays every other Friday at 7pm, plus some Saturdays at 1pm.
Across Tank Farm Rd is Oak and Otter Brewing. They have live music the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 2-5pm.
SLO Public Market is in San Luis Obispo, a nine minute drive south of downtown. It is in a fairly industrial area, near Trader Joe's Market, a colorful grocery store with some delicious items at good prices.
For a nice walk after, head over to Irish Hills Walk. It is an eight minute drive west. Or walk the lovely Islay Park Greenway, a six minute drive east.
