Sensorio is a wonderful lights exhibit on acres of undulating hills. It made me so elated that I skipped along the path through the field of lights! Because you are out in the wilderness, the lights from the milky way and stars, add the beauty of nature to the effect!
Artists have made four wonderful areas that you can walk through, depending on the ticket you buy. One of the most memorable is the Field of Lights, which resembles a flower field. It reminded me of Keukenhof in Holland. The lights are laid out on perfectly shaped hills with oak trees dotting the landscape providing a silhouette. You walk a path through the field, admiring the lights that are jewel-toned, like a magical fantasy from childhood. These are not the typical Christmas LED lights- they are subtle and beautiful, making you fill with wonder.
The other most memorable area is Dimensions, which consists of huge metal sculptures in Middle Eastern designs. The light shines through them, making patterns on the ground. This area is great for kids because it is interactive. They can spin some of the sculptures, and also stand inside some of them. Kunan zither music that is meditative makes this area just lovely.
Another gorgeous area is the Light Towers, which has African choral music by Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The music really draws you in. The towers look much better in real life than in photos, with shimmering lights from fiber optic cables inside wine bottles. It is beautiful!
The last area, that isn't as amazing, Gone Fishing and Fireflies, has arrays like fishing rods jutting out, and little lights bobbing in the wind like jellyfish.
Nature also put on a show, and we saw shooting stars!
The walk to see all the exhibits and circle back around them is over a mile, and takes two hours, since you stop a lot to savor everything. Get there are sunset, so that you can see it at dusk, and then wait to see it in full effect when it is dark.
There is sometimes live music at a fantastic wooden stage with firepits around it. A huge fake lawn here provides a place for kids to run free. There is also a restaurant in this spot, which is near the entrance. There are clean restrooms here, and also at the Dimensions exhibit.
You can pay for different types of tickets. I think the All Access Pass is the best option since you will see the Field of Lights, Dimensions, and Light Towers exhibits. The second best option is the Dimensions Pass because the Dimensions exhibit is amazing, and you can pay half the price to see just this one. I would not get the Munro Pass that has the other exhibits without the Dimensions exhibit.
Before or after your visit, check out Paso Robles town.

Ticket prices are the same whether you pay online or at the entrance, since the online payment adds a fee that makes it the same as the entrance charge.
