El Carro Park, Carpinteria

El Carro Park is a delight! The mountain panorama is stunning. There is a playground with four large slides and there are swings. Little grassy knolls are fun spots for kids to sit, roll, and run. There is plenty of shade. A huge sports field offers a sea of green beneath the marvelous mountain view.
While in the area, take a walk in Downtown Carpinteria and pop into the surf stores. You can walk from there all the way down to Carpinteria Beach and Tarpits, a great place to explore nature. Another place where nature is alive and well is the Seal Rookery in Carpinteria, where mother seals nurture their babies in a protected cove.

Directions

El Carro Park is located at 5300 El Carro Lane, Carpinteria CA 93013.
From Highway 101 southbound, exit at Linden Ave. Turn left on Linden Ave to head towards the mountains. Turn right on El Carro Ln and the park will soon be on your left. There is a large sign at the entrance to the parking lot.
From Highway 101 northbound, exit at Casitas Pass Rd and stay on Via Real, the road that runs beside the freeway. Turn right on Vallecito Rd. Turn left on Ogan Rd and then right on Linden Ave. Turn right on El Carro Ln and the park will soon be on your left. There is a large sign at the entrance to the parking lot.
