The Shoppes at University Center

The Shoppes at University Center is an attractive, modern outdoor mall. Music plays from speakers and there is pretty landscaping. California palms reach to the sky and little lights outline the buildings at night. All this makes for a festive atmosphere. There are good restaurants. Our favorite is Pei Wei Asian Diner, the fast casual (pay at the counter) version of PF Changs, which has delicious summer rolls and asian dishes. Try the Caramel Chicken- yum!
Since many of the hotels are old and musty near the beach in Sarasota, you may end up staying here if you're looking for a newer hotel. While it's an inconvenient traffic-filled drive to the beach, you will get to enjoy this mall!
