Gilbert's Coffee is in an amazing spot on the water at Sunset Bay Marina in Stuart! When I first saw it I couldn't believe how lovely it is. You can sit on the blue couches, up high above the boats and glistening water, sipping your tea and daydreaming. It gets crowded on the weekend, but on weekdays it is perfect. Besides the balcony, there is also seating right along the edge of the water, at tables under umbrellas, plus seating around the corner in the garden. This seating has mosquitoes. I like to sit on the balcony right under the fans, to avoid mosquitoes.
The pastries at Gilbert's Coffee are supplied by Moe's Muffins- yum! I love the banana coconut muffin. The hibiscus tea is fresh brewed in a glass teapot, and delicious.
The yellow Caribbean-style building with blue shutters is so cute, as is the landscaping all around, and the walkway with its colorful pattern. Next door, Sailor's Return, has live music in the evening. Gilbert's also has live music on Fridays 6-9pm.
Inside Gilbert's Coffee, there is a lovely historic-looking ceiling, plus classy nautical decor. A little side room has a nautical map covering the wall, and looks appealing.
After your coffee, you can go for a long wonderful walk on the Healthy Trail, the boardwalk along the river, for a mile. This is a beautiful walk you will want to repeat every week if you can!
You can also walk along a narrow neighborhood street to Shepard Park from Gilbert's Coffee. It is a pretty spot on the water, with a playground.
