Sewall's Point Park is Jensen Beach is a magical spot with a white sand beach on the river, coconut trees galore, views of the Ernest Lyons Bridge, a wooden platform on a pond, and a shady playground with tall, tall slides! I thought it would just be a plain boat-ramp type park since it's on the river right by the bridge and main road. But it is lovely! You can't hear the road much from the park. You enter through a white arbor with vines on it, and walk a path through a butterfly garden. Then you come to the playground which is very tall! Big kids love the huge slides. There are plenty of climbies to explore on the play structure. Kids and parents love to swing on the swings looking at the views of the white sand beach. There is a baby swing too! A sand pit with a turtle sculpture is a cute addition, and there is also a white wooden gazebo.
Plenty of picnic tables and benches are situated with great views of the water. I loved sitting at a picnic table and looking at the sand below my feet, listening to the coconut trees rustle in the breeze, and admiring the impressive Ernest Lyons Bridge. It arches in a perfect way.
Across the parking lot is a wooden platform on a pond. This is nearer to the main road so the cars are louder.
After spending time at the park, you can go for a walk south or north along Sewall's Point Rd. It is fairly shady in the afternoon. People also like to walk over the bridge, but I'd want to do it early or late in the day when it's not too sunny.
For a huge park with lots and lots to do, check out Indian Riverside Park, a five minute drive north on Sewall's Point Rd. Even in winter, I got mosquito and no-see-um bites at either of these two parks- I visited both and suffered later!
You could also have lunch at Drift Kitchen in Hutchinson Shores Resort, a nine minute drive north, on the island. It has wonderful ocean views and good food!
Benihana, with its blue tile roof and spot right on the river, is a very fun place to eat. It has low roofs, but a cozy atmosphere. The cooks make the food in front of you, performing tricks with their knifes, lighting fires, or flinging food into their hats! It is very entertaining. The food is delicious. You get miso soup, salad with yummy memorable dressing, rice, hibachi meat, and tea with your order of around $25-30. Benihana is located on this same strip of land, on the water on the other side, just a 0.3 mile drive away.
Sewall's Point Park is located just north of 8 S. Sewall's Point Rd, Jensen Beach. There is a parking lot with free parking.
If driving east from Stuart on Ocean Blvd, go over the first bridge, and then before the second bridge, turn right on Sewall's Point Rd, and turn immediately left into the parking lot for the park.
