Youngs Park, Vero Beach
Youngs Park is a fantastic spot for a picnic. It is a wide open spot on the intracoastal with huge gazebos with picnic tables, and benches. Here you can enjoy a wonderful breeze coming off the water. Besides the gazebos, there isn't any shade, but on cooler days you can do a very short walk along the edge of the water. During bad (too hot or too cold) weather, you can park your car here and look at the water.
Grab your picnic from the nearby shopping center, 3 Avenues Shopping Center, which has a Panera Bread, Publix Supermarket, and Fresh Market, a gourmet market. It also has Bonefish Grill, with lovely seating on a corner pond, a good place for a relaxed meal. You can also shop at T.J. Maxx and Ulta Beauty. Across 21st Street, you can check out Vero Beach Book Center, which also has toys, and Sweet Kiss Ice Cream.
After, go for a walk on South Beach.
