Belleair Beach is a cozy beach, not too wide, with pretty beachhouses and lots of wildlife. The parking lot is called Morgan Beach Park, and there are restrooms but no showers. Dunes with yellow flowers and sea oats greet you. The sand is fine and white but there are some dark streaks that make it look a bit polluted, and there is some seaweed on the shore and when you first enter the water. The water, unfortunately, was a thick pea soup color when we were there- not clear at all and not inviting, but it didn't smell. The best part about this beach are the gorgeous birds that fly by. There are pelicans that fly by in rows, close to the water surface. Leaping fish jump up, traveling a great distance. It's a ton of fun!
We bought a pizza at Westshore Pizza, a seven minute drive across the bridge, and brought it to the beach for a picnic, which made the evening even more pleasant.
The parking lot for Belleair Beach is called Morgan Beach Park. Cost is $5 an hour, which is a bit steep. The lot is small but not too full because of the price.
There are restrooms but no showers.
