Hyde Park Village is a small shopping area with a few upscale restaurants, a coffee shop, and an Irish pub. The architecture is kind of blocky and brick. Some trees shade the area and there is an alley with an expensive cafe, Wine Exchange Bistro, with nice outdoor seating. A Spanish fountain surrounded by trees and boutiques makes for a pretty spot- The Hyppo Hyde Park ice cream shop is here. There is a cupcake bakery nearby called Sprinkles Tampa.
Kids like the ice cream shop or bakery, but a date night if you have some money to spend on a classy restaurant could bring you here.
The surrounding area is a grid of tree-lined streets with historic craftsman houses and some quaint mansions. After your date, take a stroll south down one of these streets to Bayshore Blvd where you can walk beside the water.
Another place to eat is in downtown Tampa at the modern, inexpensive cafes around Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Hyde Park Village is located on Snow Ave as well as S. Village Circle. There is a large parking structure on the corner of Swann Ave and Rome Ave.
