Fountains at Farah, Cielo Vista Mall, El Paso

Fountains at Farah, at Cielo Vista Mall, is the nicest place to hang out in El Paso. Here there has been an effort to make something beautiful. Families can hang out under small trees on the lawn by the amphitheater, and sometimes there is a movie shown on a giant screen. There are pretty lights strung here. In summer kids can cool off in the splash pad. In winter there is ice skating. There are lovely fountains made of blue tiles, which are lit up at night. There are plenty of attractive cafes to choose from too, such as La Madeleine Country French Cafe or Grimaldi's Brick Oven Pizza. There is also a Barnes and Noble Bookstore, and Nordstrom Rack.
Another good place to go with kids in El Paso is the El Paso Museum of Archaelogy. Here kids can play in an adobe dwelling. The garden outside has lovely paths through cactus, leading to the National Border Patrol Museum, where kids can pretend to drive a buggy and jeep. Both museums are free.
