It's fun to walk to the top of the manmade hill at Hermann Park! This park is not impressive like major parks in other cities, but it does make for a pleasant walk after you visit one of the amazing museums. Walk past flowers, fountains, and sculptures. Check out the Japanese garden.

There is a railroad for kids that takes a two mile eighteen minute journey. Kids get to ride into a tunnel that is decorated with fanciful artwork. There are also pedal boats on McGovern Lake for rent. Kids enjoy the accessible playground too.
Don't miss out on the incredible Houston Museum of Natural Science, which is right next to the park.
Beware Houston has some really bad traffic so plan not to drive during rush hour.
