If you're in Amsterdam, and you're a techie or user of the open source software Blender, you can tour the Blender Foundation headquarters! From the Rijksmuseum area of Amsterdam, the headquarters is an eight minute metro ride to a modern area in the outskirts of Amsterdam, where you will find some cafes in a big concrete square. A friendly employee greets you and takes you around the two floors of offices. Some staff are busy and others are happy to chat. There is no AC and it is super hot inside in summer, so dress accordingly. There are illustrations from Blender projects hanging on the walls! These are fascinating to see. Some sculptures make for good selfie spots. After, you can have a free Blender magnet, and also buy tshirts, pens, and stickers.
Come during business hours and ask for a tour- and bring a magnet from your home town with you! You can see all the magnets from visitors on the front panel of the lobby counter!
Blender Foundation headquarters, Buikslotermeerplein 161, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Metro stop: Noord.
Come during business hours and ask for a tour.
Blender is open M-F 10-1, 1:30-6.
