Het Plein offers a youthful atmosphere. It is a giant, sunny cobblestone square in The Hague filled to the brim on warm days with people enjoying a coffee or beer at one of the many outdoor cafes. Stunning views of modern skyscrapers juxtaposed against historic buildings can be seen from the square. The square used to be a garden of the Counts of Holland, adjacent to 13th century gothic Binnenhof Castle. Take a stroll after your meal to the northwest corner of the square, past Maurithuis Art Museum, through the magical gates of Binnenhof Castle, and into its courtyard with the golden fountain.
For some reason, the side streets that branch off from Het Plein are very unappealing and touristy, so skip them. Het Plein is a nightclub spot, with five clubs, so the day after a busy night, it can look dirty.
An eleven minute drive from The Hague is Scheveningen Beach, Pier, and Boardwalk, a popular beach with large pier, wide boardwalk, aquarium, grand 1880s hotel, cafes, and summertime cafes that pop up right by the sand.
You can use this address in your GPS to find Plein: Plein 15, 2511 CR Den Haag, Netherlands.
Het Plein is just a nine minute walk from Den Haag Centraal Station.
At the northwest corner of Plein is Mauritshuis art museum, Plein 29, 2511 CS Den Haag, Netherlands. Open 10-6, with longer hours (till 8pm) on Thursday and shorter hours (opens 1pm) on Monday. Cost is 14 euros for adults, and free for kids 18 and under. Get the activity pack for kids!

One of the biggest squares in this wonderful city. Quite a beautiful area with many prominent buildings surrounding the square.
