An afternoon spent at Landmark Vineyard's Hop Kiln Winery is an enjoyable one! Here, in the attractive wine-tasting room made up of huge wooden vats, you can taste wine and munch on crackers and chutney for free! You can buy fresh-baked warm bread for only a few dollars and eat it with their free mustards and oils. Sit out on the gorgeously sunny patio and enjoy the day. There are gardens with a pretty pond. The nationally-registered historic house has a great feel to it. It also has an interesting story- when they moved it from its original location, it was too wide to fit through a bridge so they had to cut it in half!

You pass near Healdsburg on your way to Hop Kiln. It's a delightful little town on the upper Russian River. Spend some time walking around the town, or sit by the river and relax! There is a beach where you can swim in summer (see directions below).
For other great wineries, check out Sterling Vineyard or Montelena Chateau in Napa Valley. For delicious Russian food and stunning views where the Russian River meets the ocean in Jenner, check out Russian House #1 Restaurant.
