Sunny, happy Southern California!

We did some great exploring in LA a few days ago! I am always amazed at how nice LA is once you get off the horrendous freeways! Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach are real gems. Wow! The views of the headland of Palos Verdes are so nice from Redondo Beach. And Hermosa Beach has a really cute plaza in front of the pier- great for kids to run around with no worries about cars. The views from the pier at Hermosa Beach are so perfectly beautiful. It's fun to stand and watch the surfers below the pier at Manhattan Beach, and to admire the old-fashioned octagonal pier. King's Harbor in Redondo Beach is an immaculate development with a nautical theme and some great restaurants. You must check out these spots- called the "South Bay"- and they are so conveniently close to LAX...
