Alimentarium Food Museum is a museum about Nestle, tools to make food, and food packaging. It is located in a gorgeous spot on the waterfront promenade in Vevey, so it's a great place to visit if you want to also take a stroll along the water and explore Vevey. It has an interesting garden facing the water and mountains, full of vegetables and foods such as wheat. You can enter the garden for free which also makes for a great outing when combined with a stroll.

Inside the museum there are exhibits with historic tools that are interesting. There is a kitchen with a checkered floor and 1950s toaster and gadgets, where kids can pretend to cook you a meal. The museum is located in an elegant mansion with views of the water, and you can see the grand office where meetings by Nestle were held. There are exhibits about the way people eat food around the world, plates and flasks from around the world, and the way food is digested. Kids can play a light-up game about digestion where they jump from spot to spot on the floor. I liked the food packaging exhibit, where you can see the way wrappers for chocolate and treats looked back in the 1950s.
For some reason, they don't open the windows in this museum, and it is unbearably stuffy and hot in summer.
After, walk over to the water and check out The Fork (La Fourchette), a silver statue that rises out of the lake! It is beautiful and matches the lake perfectly.
You can arrive here by ferry on Lake Geneva
