At the far end of Villeneuve's waterfront promenade is a park called Parc de l'Ouchettaz. Here people picnic and sit at water's edge with friends. Kids can watch the ferry go by. Modern art sculptures add interest, and there is a long row of trees along the path that leads back into town.
There is the Port of Villeneuve, a marina with little yachts, at the far end where people take off on water activities, like foil surfing. I also saw a lady with a large camera filming the paragliders as they flew down from the high mountains above. Some people also swim here but the water does not look clean (the public beach, Plage de Villeneuve, near the pool looks better).
The views of the water, swans, coastline, and mountains are lovely.
The park has a slightly messy feel to it because of the random fences here and there. Behind one of the fenced areas is a beach volleyball court and a playground for children but it's hard to find the entrance.
If you're hungry, eat at Restaurant Oasis, directly on the water.https://www.lotsafunmaps.com/Alps/Ferry_on_Lake_Geneva_Switzerland.html
Parc de l'Ouchettaz is located at Quai Grand'Rive, 1844 Villeneuve, Switzerland.
