The Promenade is a beautiful mall. Everywhere you look there is something pretty to see. My toddler loved the 1930s Jazz music playing from the speakers scattered throughout the mall, and stopped to dance as she walked along! There are gorgeous flower beds everywhere, stained glass lamps, murals, sculptures of children, and a bell tower that reaches to the sky. The blue-tiled Spanish fountain is pretty. Kids and adults will love exploring the Barnes and Noble bookstore which is a new and attractive one. There are a ton of restaurants to choose from, and other great stores like Cost Plus World Market, where you can get wooden toys and home decorations from places like Bali. The Promenade is set by some pretty hills in a clean, suburban area. Everyone is well-dressed and classy.
Eat at Shake Shack, which always has good burgers, or Sweetgreen, a healthy option with bowls. The mall has some nice outdoor tables with umbrellas.
You can also catch a movie at the cinemas here.
There's a fantastic playground nearby at Russell Park- don't miss out on it! You will have a ton of fun watching your kids climb through the tunnels, rock climb, see saw, and point at the animal pictures.
Another nice mall made by the same brilliant developer is The Lakes in Thousand Oaks. It has a playground, icecream shop, lakes, bridges, fountains, and statues. It is more like a park than a mall and makes for a pleasant hour or so in the sun! Across the street from The Lakes, check out Gardens of the World, where you can stroll through peaceful English, French, Italian, Californian, and Japanese gardens.
Another nice spot for a stroll is the lake in Westlake Village with its restaurants, electric boats, ducks, and swan.
Another mall by the same developer is Calabasas Commons, with lush flower beds, a stream and bridges, and a great little breakfast place called Corner Bakery.
Exit Highway 101 at Westlake Blvd and turn north on Westlake Blvd. You will see the Promenade immediately on your right.
