Canal Street is a main street in New Orleans with colorful storefronts, palm trees, and plenty of shopping. Come and stroll around with tourists from all over the world and look in the upbeat stores. There are some chain stores like The Children's Place or Nine West Outlet, as well as stores selling souvenirs. At the foot of Canal Street is Audobon Aquarium where you can feed parakeets, and Moon Walk, where you can walk beside the Mississippi River with good views of the bridge and cool breezes. Side streets lead from Canal Street east to the French Quarter. Canal Street is a streetcar hub so you can go to just about any of the other stops from there. If you walk all the way to the river on Canal Street, you come to Moon Walk, a pedestrian promenade on the levee where you can enjoy cool breezes, street musicians serenading you, and views of the Greater New Orleans Bridge.
The main section of Canal Street with all the shops runs from around Rampart Street to the river.
