Glenwood Ave is the long street where NC State students go to party. There are many blocks of bars and cafes. As with most of Raleigh, the street is rugged and not very pretty, but the cafes often have atmosphere, with strung lights and seating under trees. The Cupcake Shoppe Bakery has chairs outside- try their Mint Condition (Chocolate Mint) cupcake.

It doesn't feel very safe around here so come with a friend.
A more mellow spot nearby is Morgan Street, with a few cute cafes.
