Central Winds Park, Winter Springs

Central Winds Park is a huge, well-designed park on large Lake Jesup. Usually parks with sports fields aren't pretty but this one has fields surrounded by adorable little hills, making for a magical atmosphere. In the shade of huge trees is a three-storey playground with impressive tunnel slides. There are sand volleyball courts and basketball courts near the playground. These are on Orange Ave near the restrooms, which are marked on google maps.

A bike path runs through the park, called the Florida Trail. It is shady some of the way, especially further to the east of here. This bike path runs for 11 miles, and Central Winds Park is around the midpoint of the path.
A dog park with a doggy playground looks like a fun spot. You must drive to the west side of the park on Hicks Ave to find it. Past the dog park is a metal and concrete pier on Lake Jesup where locals come to fish. It is a peaceful spot (beautiful at sunset) though there aren't any trees or shade near it. Overlook Park, nine minutes drive east, has a pier with more atmosphere (huge trees with Spanish moss), but some noise from the nearby motor bridge.
The Scottish Highland Games are held every year at Central Winds Park, making for a fun day with sheep, music, and abundant space.
If you enter the park from the east entrance, on Orange Ave, you pass some impressive estates on the lake. It's quite a fun sight. One of the estates is a wedding venue called Luxmore Grande Estate.
There is also a small orange grove on Orange Ave called Soggy Acres Pomelo Grove. At the right time of year you can smell the blossoms here.
For a hike, check out Osprey Trail, in Spring Hammock Preserve. It is an eleven minute drive to the west.

Central Winds Park is located at 1000 Central Winds Dr, Winter Springs, FL 32708. There is plenty of free and shady parking near the playground, and many spots throughout the park.
