Lakefront Park is a beautiful park on huge Lake Tohopekaliga that even has tiny waves. There are wide walking paths, along the water, and back from the water among some trees. You can walk one mile in each direction. A decorative lighthouse and benches sit on land that juts into the water, getting a great breeze. Here you can see water lilies and purple water flowers. You can walk along the marina checking out the boats and seeing the fishermen. Kids play cricket on the large lawn. Palm trees dot the park, and there is shade about half the time (midday in summer this walk won't work). Two large playgrounds make this a fun park for kids. One is a space age big-kid playground and next to is a colorful playground for little kids plus a ladybug bouncy and swings. The other is a splash pad and another playground. There are several piers, some with covered picnic tables that get a lovely breeze.

The town of Kissimmee has had better days. The main strip, Broadway, is pretty dowdy with some basic diners and antique shops. On Monument Ave you will see a very cool monument that stretches up to the sky. It is made of rocks from different states and countries.
Don't go out of your way to visit this area, but if you're here anyway, you will enjoy a stroll and your kids will enjoy the playground.
If you're hungry there is a counter-service cafe, Susan's Courtside Cafe, in a cute historic house just off Broadway, south on Orlando Ave (see address below). You can walk there from the park. The food is typical American food with plenty of mayonnaise, but the house is sweet.
For a wooden pier and gazebo on the same lake but with less or no people, check out Twin Oaks Conservation Area, a 14 minute drive to the southeast.
