Fishermen enjoy the pier on Lake Tohopekaliga at Twin Oaks Conservation Area. It's a pretty drive through countryside to get here. In the field, there is an old windmill and water tower, plus a large picnic pavilion. A short path leads to the long wooden pier, which has a shady gazebo at the end. The views of water lilies and the huge lake are lovely. If you walk east along a grassy trail lined in wildflowers there is another pier, but the path is not paved. We saw sandhill cranes in the field as we left, and many birds from the pier.
Another nice area nearby, with more people, is Lakefront Park in downtown Kissimmee. It is a 14 minute drive away, to the northwest.
