It's a tropical wonderland on Palm Beach Island! A great place to walk that is shady most of the day is the long canopy of banyan trees on N. County Rd. You can park for $5 an hour on N. County Rd near Wells Rd, by the fire station. Walk the entire stretch (800m) of banyan trees ending at the park. You will pass incredible mansions as you pop into the various side streets. Phipps Estates has a gorgeous entry with historic stone buildings covered in ivy. Wow! Cut across (I used Woods Rd but you could use any side street) to the west and head back on the N. Lake Trail. It is most shady in the morning with some shade in the afternoon. Take Wells Rd east back to your car. Wells Road is very shady, with tall pine trees that are a real delight. The road is lined with yellow hibiscus bushes. This rectangle-shaped walk is two miles.

Add a peak of the ocean at the end of your walk by crossing N. County Rd and continuing on Wells Rd to the ocean! What views! There is a beach access at the end of Wells Rd.
There is the loveliest mansion when you first cross N. County Rd at Wells Rd. It has singing pigeons, an ironwork gate with circles and arrows, and a lush garden full of palms and flowers.
After your walk, get some refreshments at Via Flagler shops on Royal Poinciana Way.
