It's fun to watch the boats go by at Silver Palm Park in Boca Raton. One thing that is quite lacking in Boca Raton is parks or promenades on the lovely intracoastal waterway- you have to be a member of a yacht or golf club to enjoy what should be a public spot for everyone. Silver Palm Park offers the chance to enjoy the intracoastal right by the bridge on E. Palmetto Park Rd. There's a row of benches with metal-roofed shade, and there's a grassy area where you can hang out in the shade of large trees or sit on benches on the water's edge. There are also restrooms. Park rangers sit here keeping it safe, though you get the occasional sketchy-looking person. There is a boat ramp and parking right up by the water. On a rainy day you could watch the water from your car.
Check out the pelicans standing on the posts, and the mansions across the water.
After, check out the cute cafes on E. Palmetto Park Rd, over the bridge. There is parking behind the cafes, and along the road if you're lucky. Playa Bowls, Sprinkles and Scoops Ice Cream, and Black Pearl Boba Tea are some fun options with kids.
For a one-mile shaded walk under seagrape trees near the ocean, check out South Beach Pavilion.
Silver Palm Park is located in downtown Boca Raton, by the E. Palmetto Park Rd bridge that leads to the island. The address is 600 E. Palmetto Park Rd, Boca Raton FL 33432.
