Parc des Buttes Chaumont
Parc des Buttes Chaumont is a beautiful, hilly park with jade green lake and fake caves and rock formations. It's fun to explore the pedestrian bridges, curving hilly pathways, stepping stones by streams, and fake caves. Happy people sit on the lush lawn by the lake.
After, have a cup of tea on Avenue de Laumiere in the upscale neighborhood. The brasseries look out on the pretty town hall (mairie). In Parc des Buttes Chaumont, across from the town hall, is a cute little house with a history museum in it. It's free to walk inside and read the exhibits.
Another magical park in Paris is Tuileries Garden. And also gorgeous is Jardin du Luxembourg, which has a great paid playground for kids. And Parc Montsouris.
If you love gardens, you will love the statues, topiaries, orangerie, reflecting pools, fountains and secret groves at Versailles Gardens.
