Avenue Cartier stands out among the streets of Quebec because of its huge, cylindrical lanterns. There are many young people who live in the area around Ave Cartier. It is bustling with cute cafes with outdoor seating and flower boxes, and a lively atmosphere. Have an ice cream at Glacier Aberdeen, an adorable little shop on a side street, with tables under a tree strung with red lanterns. It is magical there at night.

Walk south on Avenue Cartier and then to the left, to Joan of Arc garden, a formal garden with lots of benches, in Plains of Abraham, the huge park.
The shops and cafes of Avenue Cartier run from Grande Allee in the south to Ch Ste-Foy in the north, for 500m. The side streets also have cute places to discover.
