There is a fantastic one-mile stretch of the Bayshore Bikeway that is entirely off-street and goes along the north coast of Coronado Island. It is nice to walk or bike this path. There are colorful flowers and cheerful sights! The prettiest part is at the ferry terminal, or Centennial Park, with views of the San Diego skyline across the water, and nearby, at Coronado Tidelands Park, with views of the Coronado Island Bridge through a fence. Past the bridge viewpoint, the path runs along Coronado Municipal Golf Course, with tall wire fencing on either side so it's not as scenic though still pleasant. It then runs on a dedicated path beside Glorietta Blvd for only 100m and then stops (from Centennial Park to where it stops is 1.5 miles). Really the only part that you need to do is from Centennial Park (the ferry terminal area) to the Coronado Bridge Viewpoint, which is a 1.1 mile stretch. After that I'd turn around and return back to Centennial Park.
The Bayshore Bikeway also exists on the San Diego mainland and you can take your bike across on the ferry. But the part on Coronado Island is entirely off-street and much nicer than the part on the San Diego mainland which goes through some industrial areas. Stick to the island!
After, have a snack or shop for a while at Coronado Ferry Center shops. Or eat at one of the waterfront restaurants here.
The stretch of the Bayshore Bikeway that I recommend is from Centennial Park to Coronado Bridge Viewpoint (named this on google maps). It is 1.1 miles and completely off-street. There is parking at Coronado Ferry Center shops.
