UTC Outdoor Mall
UTC is a gorgeous outdoor mall with lots of public spaces for hanging out. Around every corner is something beautiful and colorful. There are fountains, landscaping, and colorful storefronts. Relaxing areas have couches and tables with umbrellas. There are plenty of fun stores to choose from- our favorite is Sun Diego, a surf shop with good clothes. Geppetto's Toys is another good one.
Cafes abound and the one we love is Eureka, which has an outdoor table around a fire pit that is a lot of fun. The food there is very good, especially the cinnamon sweet potato fries. For a quick meal, Parana Empanadas is good. Sweetgreen is an extremely popular spot to get a counter-service lunch such as a salad. And for the best boba tea I've ever had, try the orange yakult (yogurt) tea at Wushiland Tea.
Kids enjoy playing on the play area which is a climby shaped like a giant fish. The dolphin fountain is also a delight to kids. Sometimes there is live music at the huge round fountain, in the early afternoon. At night the mall is lit up and looks magical. Don't miss out on this mall- even though we usually don't like malls it was one of the highlights of our trip!
