San Luis Ranch Playground, SLO

Kids, and even teens, love to spend time at San Luis Ranch Playground. They can climb a three-level structure up to a huge twisty slide and a double slide. Pretending to drive the tractor is a highlight! There are also baby swings, a nice basketball court, and a giant lawn. A large picnic pavilion is good for birthday parties. It can be windy and cold here though.

After, walk north past the houses to the eucalyptus forest. There is a walking path on both sides of the creek, with exercise stations that kids enjoy. The forest is magical and filled with flowers and a beautiful scent. Kids will love it! Pick up some gum nuts and through them at each other, like a snowball fight!
For a snack, walk to San Luis Ranch Farms and Marketplace, where you will find a market with pretty souvenirs, an ice cream shop, many cafes, an indoor food court, and outdoor seating around a fire pit and under umbrellas! Behind is a farm which offers family events around holidays like Halloween and Christmas, with bouncies, petting zoo, and pumpkin slingshot!
Nearby, City Farm SLO has a tour the first Saturday of every month, 9:30-11am, for a $20 donation. Register here. You can also have a birthday party here, or enjoy their Sheep Shearing Shindig in May.
For an older playground with swings and beautiful views of the morros, check out Laguna Hills Park, a 6 minute drive north.
