White Point Garden in Charleston is named incorrectly because it's more of a small city park or square than a garden. Here you can find some grass, cabbage palms, and a few benches. Across Murray Blvd is a promenade on the riverfront (the Ashley River), which offers a long, 1.2 mile, shadeless stroll. It follows Murray Blvd and E. Battery Blvd. It's probably quite pretty here at sunset. At The Battery (in the halfway mark of the walk), you pass some statues and pyramids of cannon balls.
Extend your walk by going one block more north, to Colonial Lake Promenade.
After, have crepes at Queen Street Grocery.
White Point Garden and the Riverfront Promenade across the street from it is located at 2 Murray Blvd, Charleston SC 29401. There is parking along Murray Blvd and E. Battery Blvd, but it fills up so come early.
