Dollman Park Beachside, Jensen Beach

Dollman Park Beachside is a strange paradox of a remote beach yet with many condos lining it. It feels far from everything, with few shops or amenities nearby, and yet there are many huge condos that line the beach. The beach has firm sand at the shore, at only a slight slant, so it is good for long beach walks. Many of the residents are retired, and they set up chairs and tents on the beach while their grandkids play at the shore, on weekends and holidays. The path leading to the beach is very pretty, with beach sunflowers and colorful plants. When I visited on a day in early April it was incredibly hot. The sand on the path was blazing hot, and the brightness of the scene almost too much to bear. Beautiful but almost too much!

There is a nuclear plant three miles north, and signs warning you about what to do if you hear a siren.
This stretch of road has shade in the afternoon, if you want to walk along Highway A1A.
Strawberry's Deli and Ice Cream is a four minute drive south. And Drift Kitchen, a fantastic place to eat with ocean views is a six minute drive south.
You can also visit Elliott Museum, for historic exhibits as well as temporary art exhibits, or Florida Oceanographic Center, for an awesome lagoon filled with fish, plus indoor tanks.
