Golden Sands Beach Park is a beautiful spot! The beaches in Vero Beach are prettier than those in Melbourne Beach because of their lush vegetation, and this is definitely an example. The parking lot is filled with tropical trees and there is a small playground. The narrow beach is littered with huge shells. The surf is rough like the rest of the beaches nearby. Vero Beach is also nicer than Melbourne Beach in that there are more beaches with lifeguards, and this is one of them.
In the afternoon in winter, the dunes make a shady spot to sit.
Eight minutes drive north, see the super long jetty, fishermen, and rock pools at Sebastian Inlet Park. Unfortunately, you have to pay $8 to enter though.
For some places to eat on the intracoastal, head south then over the causeway to Sebastian town and the Riverview Park area.
Golden Sands Beach Park is located at 10350 Florida A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963. There is plenty of free parking.
