Riverview Park is where most of the town of Sebastian's community events are held. It's also a nice spot to take a short stroll under the shade of trees and then to the end of the pier. You can feel the lovely breezes off the intracoastal and admire the cute little islands off shore. There is a small playground in the park (which is across the street from the intracoastal) and a splash pad across Harrison Street. The area is a little barren-looking but pleasant.
Nearby, check out Pareidolia Brewing Company, a happening spot. Go when they have live music, especially the band HairPeace which has lovely harmonies! You can eat at Mulligan's Beach House, on the water. Both places are one block north.
Blackfins at Captain Hiram's is also a nice place to eat, where you can sit looking down at the water splashing on the rocks and watch the pelicans. On the same property, The Sandbar, is outdoors but allows smoking so it's not very pleasant. Both places have mediocre food and an older crowd.
Sebastian is a humble fishing and retiree town with a love of nature, on the intracoastal. Across the intracoastal, its beaches such as beautiful Golden Sands Beach Park are part of the town of Vero Beach.
There are usually fireworks here at Riverview Park around 9pm on July 4.
Riverview Park is located at Harrison Street and Indian River Drive, on the intracoastal in Sebastian. There is free parking on Harrison Street and Sebastian Blvd, as well as Indian River Drive.
