Jensen Beach Causeway Park is a lovely place to be on the water. You are directly on the intracoastal, under the huge concrete bridge. Here there are docks where you can stand and watch pelicans and seagulls. There are picnic pavilions if you need shade. The bridge also provides shade, though often not directly at the water's edge. On the far side is a playground with baby swings, swings, a ship climby, boulder, log balance beam, and a small shade canopy. People like to park in the shade under the bridge, watch the water, and play their car stereo. You can watch sailboats go by, and see the highrises on Hutchinson Island in the distance. At sunset it is gorgeous here, with the bridge lit up, reflected on the water, and the orange sky.
If you're heading toward the island, have lunch outside with views of the blue-green water at Drift Kitchen and have a swim at Jensen Beach next door. Or for shady parking right by the sand, have a swim at Bryn Mawr Beach.
If you're heading toward the mainland, go for a walk in Jensen Beach town.
Jensen Beach Causeway Park is located at 2004 NE Causeway Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957. As you enter the bridge, you will see signs directing you to the lane that takes you under the bridge. There is plenty of free parking in the shade.
