Newport Beach is an expansive beach with clean, orange-pink sand. From the beach looking north, you can see two headlands. An attractive yellow surf lifesavers club with arched windows sits at the center of the beach where the sand begins. Behind it is a playground under a forest of huge Norfolk pines. The playground has an Australian theme: the see-saw bouncy seats are a koala and kangaroo, and there is a pelican bouncy. There are baby swings, regular swings, and a fairly new climbing structure. The beach is located along the main road, which makes it feel less secluded than other beaches. A strip of shops run along the main road, ending at the beach. The shops aren't as classy as the ones at Avalon Parade, and there is loud road noise at the sidewalk cafes, but still it's handy to have somewhere to grab a bite to eat to take down to the beach.
Newport Beach is on the Barrenjoey peninsula, south of Bilgola Beach and north of Bungan Beach. It borders the main road, a little north of a long strip of shops and cafes. Turn into the parking lot directly off Barrenjoey Rd.
