Papa'aloa Park, Hamakua Coast
Papa'aloa Park is a pretty spot that is in transition (Papaaloa Park on google maps). Currently (2024) it has new tennis courts and pickleball courts with nighttime lights, to the left of the parking lot. To the right of the parking lot is a big field where kids can run- kids find the old baseball field signs interesting. On the edge of the field is tropical jungle overlooking the ocean. Because of this, you will get bitten by mosquitoes! Near the jungle are some white wooden planters for community gardening.
There are plans to make a playground here.
Just to the west of Papa'aloa Park is Papa'aloa Country Store and Cafe, a great place for live music Thurs-Sat nights at 5:30-7:30pm. This is a very popular spot with residents.

Papa'aloa Park is located at 35-1994 Government Main Road, off Old Mamalahoa Rd, in Papaaloa HI. There is a large parking lot.
