Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo
It's worth it to drive up the hill from downtown Hilo to Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Here you find a large pink and white church with vintage lampposts in front of the ornate entrance. A lovely breeze blows through the light-filled interior, and bright stained glass windows fill you with wonder. There are arched windows up high letting in more light. Everything is white and bright and pleasing. I like the stained glass window of Saint Michael the archangel. In front of the church is a statue of Joseph and Jesus as a child, with flowers around it.
The Lyman Museum is right next door (open M-F 10-4:30). I will visit it next time!
