Sea Life Scheveningen is an aquarium located at the beach boardwalk. It makes for a nice excursion combined with a chance to dip your toes in the sea. The aquarium has many interesting fish and sea creatures you haven't seen before! Each tank is unique and fascinating. Different rooms are themed, such as the tank with sting rays that is a dark room with a ship. One room is themed like a submarine, and another like an Egyptian ruin. There is a touch tank area where kids can see sea urchins open and close when they touch them. A children's artroom has a table where they can color fish or mermaids and then scan them- after, their own design swims around on the projected image on the wall! There is a glass tunnel you can walk through, where the fish, rays, sharks, and turtles are all around you. There are tanks with jellyfish and sea horses. Outside, there is a small otter area where kids can enjoy the playful nature of otters.
Scheveningen Beach is an eleven minute car ride from The Hague, another great place to explore, with art museums such as Maurithuis and Escher Palace, parks and squares such as Plein, and impressive buildings such as Binnenhof Castle.
If you like this Sea Life aquarium, you can visit other ones, in England, Germany, and other cities in Europe and the world. I have visited two others: Sea Life Sydney and Sea Life Orlando.
