Platform LA is a small, modern shopping center with cafes and trendy shops. Many young professionals from the nearby businesses visit the cafes at lunchtime. Ubisoft, the company that makes video games such as Just Dance, is located here. Sony Entertainment is nearby. It's fun to eat a bowl outside at Sweetgreen and then browse the shops and galleries. On the north end of the center, there is a little garden with seating, under the light rail tracks. The plants are unusual and varied in the garden and shopping center.
I wouldn't really bother coming to this center unless you have something to do in the area and need to get lunch.
Nearby, check out the interesting oil seeping at La Brea Tar Pits, see the outdoor sculptures, and visit the museum there. It is a 14 minute drive north, when traffic is light.
You could also check out the high end shops at Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, a 13 minute drive north. After, walk around Beverly Hills, and visit the gorgeous Will Rogers Memorial Park. If you have a child, you could bring them to the large playground at Roxbury Park.
Platform LA is located at 8850 Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232. There is parking in the structure, and you can get it validated at the cafe where you eat.
