La'ie Point is a stunning area! You must see it if you're in the area! It is in the town of La'ie on the windward coast where a Mormon temple and Brigham Young University are located. You park at the point and then walk on rocks and a dirt path. From the very beginning you have incredible views! You can just check them out from the parking lot or walk to the end of the peninsula. On your left is a sea arch with waves crashing up behind it. On your right are the perfect mountains that back Kaneohe Bay. In front of you is swirling rough water. And behind you is the green countryside. What a joy! There are a few shady spots under little trees but mostly this area is exposed. It can be quite windy, as with all of the windward coast.
Stop at Subway Sandwiches across Kamehameha Hwy (by Foodland) for a picnic. Or pick up some food further north at the food truck area.
Continue driving down the East coast of Oahu for lovely views around every turn. Or head in the other direction to Turtle Bay Resort and the North shore beaches.
While in La'ie walk the beautiful campus of Brigham Young University, or visit the Polynesian Cultural Center or its cute Hukilau Marketplace where you can enter for free and shop.
La'ie Point is located at the end of Naupaka Street in La'ie. From Kamehameha Hwy, opposite La'ie's Foodland supermarket, turn onto Anemoku Street and then right on Naupaka Street. There are a few parking spots.
