As you drive along Laguna Canyon Road, your eyes are drawn to the Flintstones-style sandstone boulders up above. You can hike among them if you pull off at the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park! A hilly hard-packed dirt trail leads you through sage bushes into Laurel Canyon. Laurel Creek winds through the canyon, lined with willow, sycamore, and live oak trees. Acorns from the live oak trees feed the deer and woodpeckers!

There is some shade, but other areas have only low brush. Many of the trails offer views of the ocean.
After, walk the delightful, shady streets of Laguna Beach town, enjoying the eucalyptus trees everywhere. And then relax at Main Beach. Or walk the path atop the cliffs, above little coves, at Heisler Park, accessed from Main Beach.
