Dr. P. Phillips Community Park has a huge impressive-looking space-age playground for big kids as well as a small toddler playground and some motorbike bouncies. There is also a fun, free splash pad that is open daily all year round from 10-2 and 3-6. These all have a lovely view of the large blue lake. The lakeshore is kind of barren with some plain housing developments which take away a little from the view. There are some large shade canopies for parents to sit under though the playground itself is very hot and not shaded. Some of the equipment isn't working and needs to be oiled even though it looks very new. The large playground is pretty hard to climb on and would suit kids aged seven and up. The supanova is a fun circle to spin around on. The toddler playground is really just for tiny kids, so kids aged four to six don't have that much to do at this playground.
This park is 13 minutes from Basilica of Mary, Queen of the Universe, a nice place to visit. It is also near SeaWorld and many of the good resorts.
Dr. P. Phillips Community Park is located at 8249 Buenavista Woods Blvd, Orlando FL 32836. From Sand Lake Rd, go south on Apopka Vineland Rd for 2 1/2 miles. Turn left onto Buenavista Woods Blvd immediately after you see the elementary school. Follow the road to the park where there is ample parking.
