Waterfront Park is a fun, happening spot on Lake Minneola. It resembles a beach, with white sand, couples sitting on fold-up chairs under palm trees, people paddling and swimming. The water is brown but from a distance it's blue. There is a bike path, S. Lake Trail, running through the park, and bike riders and skateboarders zoom by. A large Caribbean-style gazebo is a shady spot to watch it all from, and there is also shade from trees on the lawn. There are picnic tables where you can sit and take in the scene, or on hot days you can watch from your parked car which can face the water. Kids love the splash pad.
At sunset, this area is beautiful.
Continue a few minutes west, along the bike path, and you come to 8th Street Pier, another fantastic spot on the water, with a short wooden boardwalk and blue benches all along it. You will see wildlife like egrets here in the wetland.
Walk south a few blocks and check out the cafes and ice cream shops of Downtown Clermont.
