Boynton Inlet Pier is a fun place to hang out by the water and watch the water rushing in. You can walk under the A1A Highway to the cement pier. The water is incredibly clear and beautiful- what a color! Here you will find many fishermen. You get a good view of Inlet Beach. Inlet Beach has a black pipe jutting into the sky, where sand is dredged to replenish the beach. The sand is being dredged from the octagonal Spanish structure on the pier beside you and you can watch the work take place. After, walk north up the beach past an oasis of palm trees.
From the parking lot there's a nice view north past a row of tall wooden pilings to a mansion's cute little gazebo that looks almost suspended in the water. Many fishermen hang out at the parking lot and also in the gazebo on the far end, with views of tall grasses lit up in the sun. Check out the pelicans waiting for a piece of fish, and the views of lots of swaying coconut trees across the water at Ocean Inlet Park.
It's fun when you arrive at this parking lot because the hill down to it is very steep! Kids will get a kick out of that. The drive south on Palm Beach Island is very beautiful too. It makes for a good outing, to do the drive and then park your car and watch the water. Before you get to the parking lot, you drive under a long canopy of beautiful trees.
You can continue over the bridge where A1A crosses the inlet and check out Inlet Beach or Ocean Inlet Park.
Have a coffee in the awesome atmosphere at Common Grounds, or a meal on the intracoastal at Banana Boat, in Boynton Beach town.
Boynton Inlet Pier is located at the far south end of Palm Beach Island. If you are heading south, it is on your right, down a very steep hill. It is located around 3499 S. Ocean Blvd, Manapalan FL.
